Kultur macht Stark. Bündnisse für Bildung 2025.
Eine Initiative, die Kunst, Sport, Natur und Inklusion vereint, um den Basketballplatz am Nordstadtpark Kassel in einen lebendigen, offenen Begegnungsort zu verwandeln. Durch künstlerische Interventionen und gestalterische Maßnahmen, Streetball und Breaking beteiligen sich Jugendliche mit und ohne körperlicher Beeinträchtigung an der Realisierung unserer Vision. Das Projekt SWISH KASSEL findet im Rahmen von “Kultur macht Stark. Bündnisse für Bildung 2025.” statt und wird von der Alevitischen Gemeinde Deutschland K. d. ö. R., durch das Programm „Open-Air-Culture. Naturnahe Kunst- und Kulturprojekte in der analogen und digitalen Welt“ gefördert.

wie aus einem öffentlichen Basketballplatz in der Kasseler Nordstadt ein lebendiger und offener Treffpunkt entsteht. Im Projektzeitraum von März bis August 2025 haben Jugendliche mit und ohne Beeinträchtigungen aktiv an der künstlerischen Gestaltung mitgewirkt und gemeinsam Ideen umgesetzt.

Im Spiel bleiben
When young James Naismith, the Inventor of basketball, lived in Bennie's Corner, Ontario, Canada back in the late 1800s, he played a kid's game known as, "Duck on the Rock". He played Duck on the Rock with his neighborhood friends behind a Blacksmith's Shop where there was a large rock about knee high. Each of the kids would pick out a throwing stone, which was about the size of a softball, to play this rock-throwing game. The dynamics of arching the throwing stone at the "duck rock" inspired James Naismith several years later to conceive the idea of arching a ball into a peach basket, thus inventing the game of basketball!
